Getting to the City
You can reach Kyoto by plane or the Shinkansen (bullet train) from many parts of the country.
From Tokyo
The fastest way to reach Kyoto from Tokyo is through the Shinkansen. It takes approximately 130 minutes from the Tokyo Station and with no stops along the way!

Kyoto DOES NOT have it’s own airport, although it is accesible from both Kansai International Airport (if you’re coming from abroad) or the Osaka International Airport (domestic flights)
